Bystander CPR, AED, and First Aid Training
OES is in the process of implementing a new bystander CPR, AED and first aid training program to replace the training previously offered by the UCSC Fire Department. It is anticipated that this program will go into effect prior to the Fall 2014 quarter and more information will be made available at that time. If you require training prior to that time, a limited number of American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and First Aid classes are available through the Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports (OPERS). You can sign-up for these classes through the Recreation Department website and the current cost is $56 (includes book, 2-year certification, and instruction). You can also find other local classes via the links at the bottom of this page
The new OES training program is expected to utilize an outside training provider to the folliwing types of classes:
OES expects to offer a monthly class open to all members of the UCSC community. Sign-ups and payment for these classes will be directly through the vendor, but the class will be offered on campus.
The vendor will also be available to conduct clases on-request for campus units and groups under a standing campus contract. Arrangements for such classes will be made directly with the vendor and the vendor will invoice the group or unit following the class.
